Diane McKeever has been a software trainer for over 20 years and has taught over
100,000 students in the United States and Europe. Every day she earns her title
of “Certified Patient Person”
by teaching some of the most complex material in a fun, easy to understand way. As a consultant
for Fortune 500 companies such as GTE, Aetna, Gartner Group and GE, Diane has
had the opportunity to work individually with senior executives, teach large
seminar sessions as well as teach smaller groups in a classroom setting. She
currently teaches about different 14 software programs, focusing primarily on
the Microsoft Office suite.
More recently her business has become specialized in working with women
entrepreneurs and their staffs. This is partly because this is a rapidly
expanding market but also because of the great referral network women have put
together. Word has gotten out that Diane understands how women learn and what
they need to know to accomplish their goals. Diane is a member of Ladies Who
Launch and Women@Work Network as well as other LinkedIn professional groups.
When she’s not
helping people wrangle with the mysteries of Microsoft Office, she can be found
volunteering with local organizations, including the HAHA’s (Health and Humor
Associates), a caring clown troupe that roams the halls of Stamford Hospital
spreading smiles, stickers and balloon creations throughout the facility.
Knowing how dry the material is in a typical
software training environment, as well as how important it is that participants
are relaxed, Diane brings her joyful spirit, nurtured by her years of experience
as a hospital clown, into the classroom. Participants often say, “I learned so
much and had so much fun!” When teaching multi session courses she is able to
establish a rapport with her classes that allows for creative homework
assignments, passing out stickers for good work and occasionally awarding
balloon hat creations. All of this encouraged the students to relax and enjoy
the learning experience.
For the past three years, Diane has had an active blog (http://softwaretrainingtips.blogspot.com)
of software tips that she advertises via her Linkedin profile and Facebook page,
both of which are followed avidly by countless people. Her tweets (godmotherbook)
are being followed by an increasingly larger audience.
Her extraordinary work has garnered her press in several newspapers and she was
featured on the half hour TV program “Extraordinary Women Leading Extraordinary
Lives”.
Diane has a proven record of using her creativity and boundless energy in
organizations she volunteers with to get positive results, such as:
·
She introduced a
fund raising event to
a
community
building project in Kentucky
that
increased the annual fund raising
over 300%, allowing two houses to be built every year.
·
When she
took over the helm of a stodgy awards party for a 75 year old
sailing
event
she increased attendance by
over 500%.
·
She started an organization to celebrate
sailors who had participated in an annual event.
Ignoring the naysayers who felt it would never fly, in quick order she
found 120 people to sign up for this successful yearly event!
